Awaken My Love by Marat Earendel

He feels nothing. The vampire feels everything. The castle wants the rest.

Astaire Bloom, an unfeeling man devoid of hope,
takes a job in a remote castle under a mysterious employer.
As sinister events unfold around him, he starts to feel things he thought himself incapable of.
And the castle is hungry for it.
To uncover the secrets buried within, he must endure more than he ever imagined.

Hurt, and bleed, and want, and fear. Fear it all. Feel it all.

THE REVIEW

I ran into a post about this novel on Instagram – and you all know by now that I’m a big supporter of new authors and Indie authors. “Awaken My Love” is a couple of my favourite things: gothic and vampires!

Astaire has been hired as a custodian in the middle of nowhere and his employer is equal parts intriguing and terrifying. Astaire can survive in a place like the remote castle because he’s trudging through life almost void of emotion. But something happens to him once he begins to get to know his dark and erratic employer. An extremely sensual push and pull begins and Astaire is drawn in deeper.

In true gothic fashion, there is a lot churning beneath the surface in the castle. I’m not giving anything away because I would love for other readers to experience this novel in all of its glory.

This is a wonderful debut novel. I can’t wait to see the progression of this author. They have a poetic and sensual writing style that is tinged with darkness. The pacing was great and my only wish is that it was a bit longer! I would love to sink my teeth (sorry I had to) into a longer work from this author!

Fantastic debut!
