THE GOOD BITS

Les Normaux was CUTE! The art is stunning! This is one of the most colourful and diverse graphic novels I have ever read. Great meet-cute in a cool world where the unusual is usual. Vampires and the undead mingle and go to university and battle with themselves over whether or not to speak to a cute boy.

Sébastien is awkward and adorable and has had to leave home because his parents don’t support his magical powers or the fact that he has come out as gay. He’s at university learning about magic for the first time when he bumps into a model vampire named Elia. They are in a club, their inhibitions are down and they kiss. Then Sébastien flees.

What follows is a lot of will they, won’t they in the most adorable way.

What makes this such a great story is the found family the creators have made. There are all kinds of beings and all kinds of sexualities and genders. I loved it! Very diverse.
