REVIEW: Call Me Yours by Kaden Ward

Months ago a cheating ex-boyfriend left Kolton Wolf’s world shattered.

Jaded and angry, romance becomes whatever ends up in his bed from the apps or the club with a strict no-repeat policy.

Then he comes into the picture.

It’s Halloween at the “club” when Kolton first lays eyes on him. A Greek god in full costume, what little there is of it. Kolton can’t take his eyes off them. They’re perfect, beautiful. A few steps across the bar and what looks like rejection leads Kolton to an amazing steamy night with conversation far exceeding the usual surface level hookup he’s used to. The next day Kolton breaks his own no-repeat policy and reaches out to the boy.

Ghosted.

No one after that reaches the Greek god’s lofty levels. They’re simply temporary enjoyment between the ever repeating flashes of that night. Is Kolton fated to only relieve his angelic encounter as a dream, or will time and chance bring them back together before Kolton gives up?

THE FACTS

📕 m/m contemporary romance

📘 high spice

📙 just enough angst to make it interesting

THE GOOD BITS

There are a lot of M/M romance books written by women and targeted at women. This book doesn’t fall into that category so you need to go into it expecting something different.

We meet Kolton soon after he’s caught his partner cheating. He’s moving on by moving geographically, starting a new job and having all the one-night stands he wants. He doesn’t want repeats and he doesn’t wand a relationship.

This is a high-spice novel! Graphic and hot sex scenes and not all with the supporting character.

When Xander enters the picture, Kolton is taken with him. Sexually they go together like cookies and cream but mentally Kolton has a lot to figure out. He wants distance, he doesn’t want distance, he doesn’t want to repeat but he wants Xander again.

The cold shoulder he gets from Xander has a surprising effect on Kolton and he begins to realize he may be in over his head.

There are complications for the two men. I’m not going into them because the shock of them is amusing.

Great read. Much more about Kolton’s journey to realizing what he wants than you might get in a traditional romance.
