Now, you’ve got to go into this one with your eyes open, readers! This isn’t for everyone. This is an anthology that falls into the dark side of the m/m romance genre. The characters in these stories are challenging to “like” … there’s dubious consent at best in a lot of the writing. Just be careful if you are made uncomfortable by the darker side of the genre.
With the warning out of the way, holy doodle! There’s some great writing in this anthology… in fact, it includes one of my very favourite authors: C.P. Harris. Harris is the creator of one of my very favourite m/m romance series: The Chadwick series.
Each of these stories is dark. There is violence, abuse, attacks and all types of consent issues. The key though, is that the darkness in the main characters is explored and embraced. All these stories will keep you enthralled despite the way you may feel about the events that are unfolding.
Each story is well-written, the characters are intriguing and original and I’ll be looking for full novels by many of these authors!
