The thing about living in Kamloops is that we spend some time every summer sweltering away. It gets to be between 30 and 40 Celsius and my will to actually do something seems to flee. I will say, those temperatures give us lovely sunsets.
I have been doing a few things.
We went to Nanaimo. It was a lovely trip. I got a couple of bike rides in although, one of them was so challenging that I ended up walking my bike up and down hills. It’s still exercise. The island was fantastic. I got to spend some time with my Mom and Dad, got spoiled, sat out on the deck and watched hummingbirds. I rediscovered how wonderful my parents garden is for my writing. Sat out there every morning with a coffee and a notebook. Apart from one rather close encounter with a hummingbird that flew right up to my nose and hovered there – it was peaceful.
We visited Rathtrevor which is a fantastic place to take bikes. The paths are all wide enough for people and bikes; they are soft but not too soft to warrant a mountain bike. For the most part, it’s flat and it’s a ride by the ocean. Can’t ask for much more than that.
The accidentally on purpose planted tomatoes are growing despite our inability to deal with living greenery. The one I mistakenly repotted with my cyclamen has been safely nestled into its own pot now and seems to be thriving. I think this is the honeymoon phase.
The sky is still beautiful and so is cinnamon ridge.
Your beautiful pictures make me want to move to BC. Wish I could.
