I mentioned on here a few days back that our favorite bike trail was closed. There is a mother with two really young cubs. Conservation officers figured they were both under a year old. They were suggesting that people stay away from the path because if the mana has a run-in with us humans she will have to be relocated. Apparently, relocation is very hard on the babies when they are so young and most of them don’t survive.
I was very pleased to see these signs today. I think it’s an awesome choice to close the trail as it was the bears’ land first and I’d really rather no one relied on humans making the right choice about using the trail.
