To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders

There needs to be a higher rating for this book alone.

This book is divine. I fell in love with Ellis and Lucky from the moment I met them. Sanders has an amazingly authentic and yet creative style. The writing is like poetry at times, then it will turn on a dime and be funny and down-to-earth.

This is a romance but it’s also a story about the lives of two people. Those two lives braid around one another, loosen, disentangle and bind together again throughout the course of their lives.

I would hope that everyone gets to head into reading this book knowing as little as possible about it. Just go with the flow and trust that your heart is in good hands.

As someone who is not neurotypical I am filled with gratitude for the creation of Ellis. I loved the people who surrounded him, the world in his mind and the world that came to life from his fingertips. He is lovely.

All the pieces of this story are woven together with such skill that I was left with a massive book hangover. Frankly, I’m jealous of anyone who gets to read this for the first time.
